Common signs that your fuel supply and injections are experience problems are when the tractor splutters at high speed, or loses power while under high load or even just when you accelerate. A standard tractor’s fuel system may have become more technically advanced over the years but the basic format has not really changed. The fuel flow process starts in the fuel tank where the diesel is pumped at low pressure through a series of hoses to the fuel filter. This catches any contaminates or impurities that may be in the diesel before it passes the filtered fuel into the fuel injection pump. This pump pressurises the fuel to the correct pressure into the fuel injectors at the correct stage of the engine stroke.

From this basic description we see that every part of the fuel system is a vital to the safe and efficient operation of a tractor’s engine. The fuel supply and injection system is essential not only for modern tractors but also for vintage tractors, as any fuel system with a malfunction or starvation can have a serious impact on your engine's performance.
